Hello Cedars Families!
We're very excited to start school virtually on Tuesday, August 18. It's hard to believe we are finally ramping up for the start of the new year, and even harder to believe it's been almost five months since we've seen your wonderful kids inside these walls! We hope you were able to take the opportunity the last few months to spend some quality time together and perhaps dust off some of those family activities you haven't done in awhile.
As we start this year of school we face unprecedented challenges in our community. The Coronavirus pandemic has disrupted our lives and caused real pain for many of our staff, students, and their families. However, amidst this crisis we believe that the school can still serve as a place of hope, of connection, and of support for our community. And while we plan to begin virtual learning for the entire 1st nine weeks we will still maintain a commitment to building connections with our students and with our families while also continuing the many supports we offer such as curbside meals, social-emotional support, and virtual events to name a few.
In order to do that, your child/ren will need a Chromebook so they can log into the virtual classrooms. We will have Friday, August 14 and Monday, August 17 so that you can drive to the school and receive the necessary equipment. Simply read through the Device Distribution plan. Then, complete the Device Loan Form HERE or below and a staff member will contact you to schedule an appointment.
We will have Meet the Teacher TODAY throughout the day. Please see the attached schedule for your grade. You can login on your phone or a device to view the presentation. Teachers will record the meeting so it can be reviewed at a later time. If the times for the event do not work for you, just contact the teacher directly and they will schedule a time to connect with you.
Curbside meals will be given out starting on the first day of school on August 18. Please order a day in advance. Click here or below to order NOW!
While this is not the way we thought our school year would begin, our teachers are working hard on providing all of our students with high quality instruction that will continue to serve our community. Please reach out to the school if you have needs, both school related and family related. We will do our best to provide resources that support our community of learners.
We look forward to seeing you again!
