Classes Resume to Normal Schedule on Monday, February 22nd

Good Sunday Morning,

I am pleased to be able to say that Cedars International Academy Crowley Campus suffered only minor plumbing damage during this past week's snowy, cold weather.  I was able to get on campus on Friday to assess the problem and able to get the three broken exterior pipes capped yesterday.

That means that Cedars International Academy students that have been on campus prior to the storm can return at regular time tomorrow, February 22nd.  Those students that continue to be 100% remote will also resume classes tomorrow.

I understand that some of our community may still be struggling to get all of their resources returned to normal, so please communicate with your teachers as soon as you can to let them know if your student is not able to fully participate.

I am very thankful that we have persevered to make it to this glorious Sunday.  I know that we have all suffered through this extreme weather event, but I am blessed by the stories of neighbor helping neighbor and for the first responders that helped so many.  I find my lack of running water here at home this morning a small inconvenience compared to all of those blessings.

I hope that each of you can enjoy the glorious weather over the next few days and get back to our COVID normal of washing hands, socially distancing, wearing masks, and being thankful for those that are on the front lines fighting this pandemic and vaccinating to help control it soon.

Looking forward to seeing those students and staff back on campus tomorrow and to drop into some virtual classes throughout the week to see more familiar faces.

Stay safe,

Michael G. Blalock
