3rd Graders Design Utopian Cities: Writing, Research, and Geometry in Action!

In Baldwin's 3rd Grade ESL/ELAR class, the students wrote well-planned paragraphs using the writing process from prewriting to publishing in teams. The students presented important, research-based solutions to urban problems to accompany their Shapeville geometry models in Mr. Carbajal's math class. The 3-D plans merged when thoughtful student teams integrated greenspaces and additional features in their Shapeville models to accommodate their Utopian futures to help solve problems such as air pollution and homelessness, to name a few.
