Welcome to Cedars International Academy!
I’m thrilled to be a part of this very special Cedars family! ¡Estoy emocionado de ser parte de esta familia tan especial de Cedars!
I currently reside in Round Rock and share my life with my three blessings Jayden (10th Grade), Haley (7th Grade - attending Cedars International New Tech Academy), and Kaitlynn (4 years old and future student of Cedars). My family enjoys traveling, skating, dancing, and frequenting sporting events. Cedars has been a part of our family for over eight years.
Professional Experience: Prior to becoming a Principal, I was a teacher for Waco ISD where I received Teacher of the Year. After relocating to Austin, I began my administrative journey at Austin Independent School District where I was an Instructional Coach at “TEA Recognized School” Blackshear Elementary. I received the Leadership Mentor award while employed with AISD. After leaving AISD, I became the Assistant Principal at Cedars International Academy. We were recognized by Texas Education Agency within one year for becoming a “TEA Recognized School.” Then, I transitioned to the Principal of Cedars under Dr. Diaz leadership and have enjoyed every year at Cedars. We have a truly unique and dedicated family that reaches all students. In 2017-18, our District was recognized by TEA for receiving a “B” Rating. Our theme this year is “BUILDING A STRONG FOUNDATION! We are stronger together!
Education/Degrees:
Originally from Waco, Texas where I received a Bachelor’s in Education from Baylor University and obtained a Masters in Educational Administration from Capella University. I then went to Texas A&M and received my Principal Certification. Additionally, I successfully completed over 20 hours of my Doctorate from Northcentral University in Organizational Leadership.
